Boston Mining Camp, Colorado
This gold mining settlement sits high in the Mayflower Gulch bowl at 12,000 feet. Founded in the 1880's following discovery of gold in the high slopes surrounding the bowl, Boston Mining Camp's success collapsed very quickly with the realization of the lack of purity of the gold along with the explosion of silver mining in nearby Leadville.
