Perhaps the most awesome natural wonder in the great state of Texas, Palo Duro Canyon, carved by the Prairie Dog Town Fork of the Red River, extends for 120 miles through the heart of the vast, flat Texas panhandle. This is the nation's second largest canyon. The upper entrance to the Palo Duro Canyon is less than a 30 minute drive southeast from Amarillo.
